Manage Images.
Answer:
First, you may want to review the Images section under Managing articles for your online newspaper.
You may link to images from any Internet source. You should use caution when doing this however. First, some webmasters consider such linkage a 'theft' of bandwidth. Second, you cannot control the image and it could change without your knowledge. Third, this online newspaper service is configured to use images of a certain width.
We have now built in an integrated Media Manager to more easily allow you and your newspaper staff to manage images and attach them to articles. Use of the integrated Media Manager is detailed under Managing Articles.
We provide an online photo gallery exclusively for use by our customers. We are building a set of online albums with a variety of public domain images that you are free to use with your online newspaper. Also, you should have been given access (site address, username and password) to this photo gallery when your site was established. If not, please send an email to support @yourStudentNews.com. This photo gallery should be configured to allow you access to the public domain images and should allow you to create albums of your own. When you upload images, they are automatically resized for use with a yourStudentNews.com site.
To use an image from the photo gallery in your site: 1) find the image you want; 2) right click the image; click Copy Image Location; 3) paste this into the Media URL field on the Add Media page of your online newspaper site administration portal.
NOTE: Please do not upload images indiscriminately. If we discover abuse of the photo gallery, your access may be blocked and we may have to limit space and access for all of our customers.
Government sites are often a good source for public domain images and even material for articles. Other good sites include morgueFiles.com and creativeCommons.com.
